Located in the centre of Daventry, this design and construct project delivered a new retail park including a single storey Homebase store and a two storey building comprising undercroft car parking with six retail units above.

The scheme also includes the design and construction of a new two storey Working Men’s club to replace the original which was demolished as part of the development. As part of its engagement with the community, John Sisk & Son provided temporary accommodation for the club within the site boundary whilst the new club was constructed.

Extensive diversion of services had to be carried out which involved working around live supplies. Substantial excavation (c.10,000m3) was required to accommodate new site levels and the undercroft car parking. External works included lighting; hard and soft landscaping, to the service yard and car parking areas; plus road alterations and extensive Section 278 works to three of the four roads enclosing the site.

Communication has been maintained with the various stakeholders of the scheme.  Sisk staff hosted monthly meetings throughout the construction programme to understand and accommodate the requirements of the interested parties - including the local authorities and incoming tenants.  Sectional completions were incorporated to allow access for tenant fit-outs.

Detailed planning and strict segregation ensured safe access for deliveries and pedestrians as the works progressed.
