New Mater Hospital boosts expanding Healthcare Portfolio for Sisk
12 February 2009
Following a highly competitive public tendering process Sisk have been awarded the Design and Build Contract for the redevelopment of the Mater Adult Hospital. This €130million project will start on site in summer 2009 following the completion of the site enabling works separately. This is a particularly significant win, coming as it does in the throws of a major downturn for the construction industry with tendering prices extremely competitive. The project was awarded to Sisk on a combined score based on cost, quality, programme and management approach. Sisk built the last major development at the Mater in the 1970s. Furthermore Sisk have also recently been appointed for a major extension at Blackrock Clinic (€28m), as well as ongoing projects for the Wellwood Clinic in Tullamore (€60m), Little Sisters of the Poor in Waterford (€23m) and Wyndale in Letterkenny (€33m.)
