CPD Ensures Ireland’s Engineers Best In Field

Wednesday 2nd July, 2008: John SISK & Son Ltd is the 100th company to be awarded the prestigious CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Accreditation by Engineers Ireland, it has been announced. The company received the accreditation following an audit of its lifelong learning practices for engineering professionals and was presented with the award by Ms. Mary Coughlan T.D., Tánaiste, and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.

Presenting the award, the Tánaiste said: “Engineering is a fundamental part of sustaining Ireland’s economic success and this is underpinned by a skilled and proficient supply of engineers. The CPD process facilitates this by encouraging engineering firms to develop their staff for mutual benefit so I am delighted to present the award to the 100th company on behalf of Engineers Ireland. SISK is clearly fully committed to the progression of its staff and is a deserving recipient of this award.”

Commenting on John SISK & Son Ltd’s achievement and the 100th CPD award, Engineers Ireland Director General and Chartered Engineer, John Power said: “CPD Accreditation is a strategy for success in organisations. It indicates that engineering professionals in a company are constantly re-skilling themselves. This ensures the public can be certain that Ireland’s engineers are implementing modern safe techniques and have the expertise to safeguard public interest.
