John Sisk & Son have been appointed by Korine Property Partners to carry out the structural modifications to their Oxford Street retail unit.
The project comprises of the full strip out and structural modifications of three retail units (527 to 533 Oxford Street) whilst the Park Lane Marriott Hotel above continues in full operation.
The project involves large scale and complex engineering works. The existing retail space will have all primary columns enhanced and circa 65 tonnes of steel installed below the Park Lane Marriott Hotel. On completion of the steel and concrete installation the hotel will be jacked and the new transfer steel frame engaged. The columns made redundant by this operation will then be taken out, two floors removed and the ground floor replaced.
The works will be completed up to shell and core for the summer; when the new unit will be released for further fit out by a future high street retailer.
The upgrading works will facilitate the addition of a further three stories of bedrooms to the current East elevation bedroom block of the Marriott Hotel.
