New team based permanently in Glasgow

John Sisk & Son Ltd (Sisk), one of the largest construction groups in the UK and Ireland, has won a series of contracts in Scotland following a recent push into the region and has opened a new office in Glasgow.

The contractor has secured several contracts in Scotland and will deliver these through the new Glasgow office.  Sisk had previously been providing support to the region from its Manchester and Birmingham offices. This marks a real investment in the area with the recruitment of a permanent team headed by Gavin Currie as Area Manager.

Gavin will be supported by a highly experienced team, which includes Commercial Manager, Gerry Gallacher and will be based at Woodside Place, Glasgow.

Recent Sisk contracts include:

TK Maxx, Glasgow: Sisk has recently completed the £3.5m building contract from MAR Properties to redevelop the retail site. The development has provided the TK Maxx retail chain its largest UK store to date with a floor space of 70,000ft2.

CitizenM, Glasgow: The hotel operator has now made its UK debut, following Sisk’s completion of a 198 bedroom hotel in Glasgow’s city centre. The project used an innovative modular building solution where the rooms were assembled offsite at a factory in North Wales, before being transported to Glasgow to be fitted in place.

Co-Operative Retail, Motherwell: A £13.5 m fit out project for a new warehouse and office facility for Co-Operative Retail Ltd (part of the Co-operative Group), which will support their distribution network throughout Scotland. The work will include mechanical and electrical services, frozen and chilled refrigeration, internal racking and a sprinkler system.
