Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has awarded John Sisk the contract to construct the new Dun Laoghaire Library, Arts, Community and Cultural Centre.  Construction commenced in late April 2012 and is due for completion in January 2014.

The Cultural Centre will include a performance space with seating for 100 people, an art gallery, education workshop space and cafe. The library will include a public “living room” overlooking the park, with space for internet use, newspapers and magazines as well as a resource for community information and a dedicated suite of rooms for young people. The building will also accommodate general reading rooms, a children’s library and a local history department.

The project includes a re-development of Moran Park, to include outdoor space for events, a new shallow pond and significant landscaping around Moran Park House itself.
