John Sisk & Son has been appointed initially to deliver Phase 1 of the redevelopment of the former HP Sauce site at Aston Cross, Birmingham – an instantly recognisable landmark on one the main routes into the country’s second city.

East End Foods has purchased this 6 acre site on which to develop their new Headquarters, a 125,000ft² cash and carry warehouse and a 14 storey 200-room hotel and conference centre.

Sisk will be working with their experienced supply chain to deliver a full package of works.  Thes involve a large cut and fill earthworks package to accommodate the site gradient to be followed by piled foundations and retaining walls. A steel frame structure will be clad with composite cladding panels. The offices and warehouse will be fully fitted out with racking and sprinklers under the contract.

Externally, car parking and hardstanding areas are provided to the perimeter

Completion is scheduled for September 2011 and detailed design work is to commence on Phase II later this year.
